Coach Bill Darrah has competed in running, cycling and multisport events of all distances, and is a four-time Ironman finisher with over 30 years of experience in endurance training and racing.
Bill started his racing career at the age of 13 by running a 10K, inspired by a local runner who mentored Bill and started him on a path to an active lifestyle that has evolved to include athletic events of all disciplines and distances. Soon after finishing that first 10K, Bill completed his first triathlon and, at the age of 17, placed 6th overall at the 1983 USTS National Championships. He was well on his way to 30 years (and counting) of cycling and multisport competitions. Following are a few highlights of Bill’s athletic accomplishments:
Coach Bill has also participated in numerous Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons; oodles of half marathons, 10Ks and 5Ks; loads of century bike rides and races; and a few adventure races to top it off.
Throughout all of these adventures that have spanned the globe from the mountains to the seas, the common theme has been working hard and having fun.
Bill is also passionate about an overall healthy lifestyle, including nourishing the body with the optimal food and fuel for maximum performance. See our nutrition page for information on eating for peak performance, as well as some of our favorite recipes.
